Ribbon Cutting for Little Free Library

ISU Extension office parking lot at 220 H Avenue in Nevada

A Little Free Library will be installed in Nevada on June 4 with a Ribbon Cutting scheduled for 1:30 pm at the ISU Extension office parking lot.

A Little Free Library is a sturdy, waterproof small structure.  Some little libraries are plain, some are decorated.  The libraries have roofs and doors that keep out the elements so water won't damage the books.

The Little Free Library movement started with a Wisconsin man who built one in the shape of a one-room schoolhouse in honor of his mother, a retired teacher.  One of the goals of the little free library movement is to build more than 2,510 libraries around the world.
