Indian Creek Greenbelt Trail: The second phase of the Indian Creek Greenbelt Trail was completed in late fall 2002.  The trail begins on Lincoln Highway and continues along Indian Creek south through the   4-H grounds.  The path approximately 1.5 miles in length and includes two pedestrian bridges and a 1/2 mile loop.  This trail is very popular with bikers, walkers, and runners in Nevada.

Indian Creek Country Club and Golf Course: Established in 1926, ICCC is Story County's oldest golf course. Located three miles south of Nevada, Iowa (63012 260th Street, 382-9070) they remain one of Iowa's "best kept secrets". Check out their web site for more information. 

Nevada Community Historical Society: Visit many of our historic homes and sites in Nevada including Evergreen Lane/Briggs Terrace, Dryer Dowell Victorian House, and Halley Schoolhouse.  The Historical Society is now offering scheduled Murder-Mystery Dinners for special occasions.  Contact the Historical Society for more information at

Shop Nevada: Nevada is home to a number of unique specialty shops.  Do not miss the opportunity to visit our merchants.  Eleven buildings on Main Street (6th Street) have earned the honor of being listed on the National Historic Registry along with having the historic Lincoln Highway running through our community.

S.C.O.R.E. Recreation Athletic Complex: This 58-acre park located on Fawcett Parkway is currently under development.  Features of the park currently include an outdoor aquatic center, pavilion, soccer fields, and a 4-plex of softball/baseball diamonds.  Scheduled to be completed in 2006 are tennis courts, a multi-purpose court, and two playground areas.  If you are interested in renting any of these facilities please contact Nevada Parks and Recreation at 382-4352. 

Sports Bowl: Offers 10 lanes of bowling along with bar, food, and arcade  games.  League bowling offered for all ages.  Located at 1229 12th Street.  For more information call (515) 382-2500.
